Baking time Oven Temperature: 375 degrees, lower rack This is what you need for 1 cake, 12 slices: 4 eggs 3/4 c granulated sugar 6 TBLSP all purpose flour 3 TBLSP cornstarch 1 tsp baking powder Chocoalte Filling 3/4 c butter 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar 3 egg yolks 5 TBLSP unsweetened cocoa powder 4 TBLSP orange marmalade,opt. Glaze and Garnish: 3 TBLSP butter 6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate green grapes candied lowers, optional, for garnish Preparation: 1. In a bowl, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. In another bowl, combine flour, cornstarch and baking powder. Sift into egg mixture. Stir to blend. 2. Line a 9 inch round baking pan with greased wax paper. Do not grease sides of pan. 3. Pour batter into pan. Bake qt 375 degrees for about 30 minutes. Let cake cool in pan. Loosen around edges with a knife. Carefully turn cake out onto rack. Peel off paper. 4. For filling, beat together butter and sugar unti creamy. Add egg yolks, cocoa and orange marmalade, if used. Stir until smooth. 5. Cut cake into three layers. Spread chocolate filling between cake laters. 6. For glaze, melt butter and chocolate in a double boiler. Spread mixture on top and sides of cake. 7. Garnish with seeded grapes, whole or halved and candied flowers, if used. Chill cake for a few hours. I used key lime jelly instead of marmalade. I also used candied violets to decorate the cake. I had trouble slicing the cake into three layers.
